roberta stoddartBorn in Jamaica in 1963, Roberta Stoddart studied Art in Brisbane, Australia, and received her postgraduate diploma from the Sydney College of Art, Sydney. Her solo exhibitions include: ‘Beyond The Web’, 1992, 'Soul Birds’,1993, 'Domestic Harmony', 1995, and 'Seamless Spaces', 2000. Stoddart relocated to Trinidad in 1999, where she is currently working towards her fifth solo exhibition, due to open in Port-of-Spain in 2007. In 1999, Stoddart was awarded the Prix Public (First Prize by the Public) at the XXX eme Festival Interational de la Peinture, Cagnes-sur Mer, France.

Her publications include Surviving The Dream And Remembering My Identity, an essay, in ‘A Suitable Distance, Impressions of Trinidad by five artists’, Soft Box Studios Limited and Andy Jacob, 2006; Trees Without Roots – The Caribbean and Central America, text by Roberta Stoddart on the photographs of Abigail Hadeed, published by Abigail Hadeed/Crapaud Foot, 2006; and SEAMLESS SPACES,  Roberta Stoddart, a book on the paintings of Roberta Stoddart from the exhibition Seamless Spaces, published by Abigail Hadeed and Roberta Stoddart, November 2000. Her paintings appear on the covers of a number of publications.
